Today we recognize the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

Some have asked what we, as a heritage society, are doing/have done in regards to Truth & Reconciliation. In 2018 the society repatriated the small number of items in its collection to Kwantlen First Nations and developed a Repatriation, Reconciliation And Cultural Property Policy, which can be found in the About section of our website.

As individuals and as a heritage society, we continue our learning path by researching, reading and listening to the stories of Indigenous People, Inuit and Métis, and familiarize ourselves with the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls To Action and UNDRIP to understand where and how we may be doing better.

When they did the update, they didn't remove two locations that were no longer in use - the oval car racing track on 240th Street (green dot) and the North Star Drive In on 248th (blue dot). This is a very large map, and you may have to open it in a new tab or download the image to your device to see the details. It is important to note that this map only goes to west Aldergrove, I will post the eastern portion tomorrow.
